The unexpected meeting

The story continues after 5 years since Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf’s last separation. (TV series Gossip Girl)

Good morning upper east siders, Gossip Girl here, your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite. Today I spy with my little eyes; a Queen bee, Blair Waldorf. Usually the mornings for Upper East Siders are all about luxuries. But poor B, she is spotted having one busy morning. Today was the day that Queen bee who has left five years ago was making a debut back to her hive: Upper East Side. Why did she leave? What made her stay out of trouble for all this time? That’s a mystery I’m willing to figure out. You know you love me. XOXO, Gossip girl.

“Dorota! I need my red cashmere scarf!” Blair yells out as she hurries to put her earrings on.

“Miss Blair, they are all there, set out on your bed. Are you sure you don’t need me to go with you?” Dorota points out as she looks worried.

“No need for that Dorota, S is going to be waiting for me and I don’t need a babysitter. I am in my mid 20s already for god’s sake.” Blair stomps around trying to find the matching coat to go with her bright coloured heels.

“But Miss Blair…”

“Enough Dorota. Now, Manhatten is waiting” Blair walks out after giving Dorota a quick smile.

Anyone could feel a little chill in the wind. Connecticut was a little chillier than Manhatten at this time Blair thought. As Blair hopped in to her personal limousine, she felt her nose go numb from the cold. She looks out the window thinking of what has driven her away from the homeland she loved so much, and then she let out a soft sigh.

‘brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr’ she heard her blackberry vibrate in her side pocket. She checks it and when she sees that it is Serena and she answers.

“Serena!”

“Oh, you are finally coming back after all those years! I can’t wait! I just called to remind you to come straight to my place, Mum hired caterers and suggested a breakfast at mine to catch up!” Serena talks non stop showing an enormous excitement in her voice.

“Of course, chauffeur! To Serena’s. I will be seeing you in an hour, better not have any unpleasant guests!” She smiles warmly as she gets off the phone.

Manhatten was still the same, it was a little breezier than she thought but the sun was shining and the busy streets were all the same. Much memories all went through her head like flipping through an old album full of old photos, and one of the thoughts stopped and lingered for a while: Chuck.

“Hey! You made it! Come here you!” Serena opened the door even before Blair knocked and gave Blair a big hug.

“Yeah, how did you know I was outside? I didn’t even knock? Did you hire a new psychic to look after your house while I was gone?” Blair being dragged by Serena, looked confused and chortled.

“Long time no see, Blair”

The alarmingly familiar voice stopped Blair, as she turns her head she sees the reason that drove her miles and miles away from her homeland: Chuck.

“Wh..What are you doing here Chuck? What’s this S?” Her eyes lost its destination; she looked at Chuck and then Serena. “Wait, wait. How do you know that I’m here? Serena, did you tell?”

“Well, well, well, it seems like the time has really changed a queen bee into a foreigner. Do you not remember?” Chuck holds up his blackberry, shakes a little and grins.

“Blair, Mum let him in and he wouldn’t leave no matter what I say” Serena looking apologetically.

Blair cannot hear a word coming out of Serena but soon after seeing Chuck’s shiny new blackberry she remembers, Gossip girl. “I thought you were gone to Germany” still not being able to look straight into Chuck’s eyes, she mutters the words.

“Congratulations on biting bait, it was a lure to make you run back to Manhatten. By the way, we have a lot to talk about.” Chuck in his expensive dark navy suit glistened in the sun as he grabbed Blair’s wrist.

Blair didn’t look happy to see him, she was dressed rather casual compared to how she would normally dress like and she wasn’t ready to confront him again, at least she thought. “I will meet you in the dining room in ten minutes” she looks at Serena as if she has decided something.

As soon as they walked in to a guest room of Serena’s house. Chuck closed the door, took a deep breath and turned to see Blair. “You had me worried sick. Do you even know that?”As he looked deep into Blair’s eye, Blair felt the tears swell up in her eyes. It was obvious that she had missed him too.

With no answer coming out of Blair’s mouth, Chuck turns and punches the wall. “Why didn’t you answer my calls? You told me we’re Chuck and Blair. Blair and Chuck. The worst thing I’ve ever done, the darkest thought I’ve ever had, you said you will stand by me through anything!”

Blair slowly walked up to Chuck, with her arms around Chuck she whispered, “I left you and Manhatten because I…..”
