Street Fighter: The Legend Continued... In a Burger Joint
5 years it has been now since Ken’s retire from the Street Fighter world tournaments and return to western life, but not for his best friend Ryu who yet continues to roam the world in search for worthy opponents to prove himself the ultimate warrior. After settling in to western civilization again, Ken had lately been thinking he should reunite with his old friend. He would try to show his friend this beautiful, peaceful side of life in the hope to put an end to Ryu’s violent, unhappy and lonely path to what would become his own destruction. This time there would be no fighting, no training, no tournament- just the two spending some simple time together in Ken’s homeland, the USA.
At the busy airport arrivals lounge it was no needle in a haystack for Ken picking out Ryu looking truly lost, still clad with his white Keikogi martial arts robes. He looked just like he had been the moment the two parted 5 years ago. Still, no surprise there Ken thought to himself. The two warriors met with rock like grips and Ken noticed upon close inspection that Ryu was in phenomenal shape. It brought him to attention just what a different world his friend was coming into right now.
"Brother, it’s been so long!" Said Ryu in his native Japanese tongue, their firsts still bound together, clamping more forcefully with excitement.
"I know what they give out up there on those planes, you must be almost dead by now! Come, we gotta get you some real American food to eat right away. Come on!" Ken knew how large Ryu’s appetite was and that there always with a true warrior comes enormous requirements for fuelling his body. Indeed, Ryu inside was weak with hunger, though he immediately felt more comfortable with Ken who still knew him like nobody else.
It wasn't in Ryu's nature to be so self- aware, but he was unsure about this. Surely Ken knew what he was doing; they were in his homeland and after all... but Ryu still felt incredibly uncomfortable. All eyes seemed to be on the two. His ravenous hunger that had occupied his every thought just moments ago was suddenly and completely replaced by nauseous swelling in the pit of his stomach.
"Ah, Ken..." he started, but hesitated after noticing heads around him perking up.
Ken turned around, "Huh? What's up dude?"
"... It's... nothing..." Ryu felt his face heating up. He hoped it wasn't noticeable and looked down to make sure no one could see. His feet clad in ratty red high-tops came into view, dirty and well traveled, as was his dingy, no longer white gi. Ryu became more and more embarrassed. The sound of Ken's voice snapped him back to reality. It was their turn to order, Ken did the talking of course. Ryu could only pick out few key words. "Burger" was one of them, something which he recalled Ken passionately describing to him long, long ago in the midst of Japanese forests where the two had given their lives to their training.
"You can grab some seats, Ryu, I'll get the food when it comes up."
"Nnh," Ryu nodded and made a hurried dash for the corner booth he had been eyeing. Secluded at the back of the burger joint, away from curious eyes, there, he thought, he could calm down enough to eat.
The red leather seats squeaked as Ryu sat down. He scratched his head, wiggled his toes inside their unfamiliar surroundings: shoes. As he looked around, he felt restless. Curious gazes and long stares still came at him from all around. He was a novelty; Ryu rationalized to himself, a Japanese in a traditional gi inside an American fast food restaurant must have been an unusual sight. The atmosphere became more and more awkward and uncomfortable for Ryu as the moments ticked away. Maybe it was all in his imagination, he started to think. To relieve his stress he started to play with his hands, cracking his knuckles, stretching his muscles and tendons, trying to block out everything else.
A few minutes later, as promised, Ken finally came with a tray piled with deliciousness. Ryu could smell the seared meat and grease radiating from the mountain of food, the scent alone made his knees feel week and his stomach jump for joy. Ken placed it on their table with a wide grin and sat down.
"Well, eat up!" he declared as he ripped open and tore into a cheeseburger. Ryu looked at the feast laid before him. He took up a warm mass bundled in thin greasy paper and unfolded it.
"Itadakimasu," he bit into the soft, sweet bread, the crunchy lettuce and tomatoes, into the juicy, tender meat. Ryu could have cried from sheer happiness. Ken observed him seemingly absorbed in his own paradise; he was already sure his friend would enjoy this new land.
10 Fanfiction Links
Based on the game series Time Crisis, this fan-fiction involves all the characters throughout the series. Although it is in no way resembling the feel of the game is does very well in creating a gripping introduction and characterizations. The author even utilises foreign languages in a courageous effort that really added to the characterizations of the villains. It is an incomplete work, but looks very promising.
Twin_Destiny
Based on the game series Halo. An excellent story. The thing I liked most about this is it focused on the innocent boy bystander and not all on the heroes. Many Halo fanfics that I've read get too wrapped up in what the Covenant forces are doing and draw attention away from the main character but this does a good job with capturing the world of the game. Very emotional and descriptive.
Snowfall_at_Sea
Based on the movie Master and Commander. This story narrates a small episode onboard the ship at sea and describes the enjoyment and playfulness of the crew during a rarely encountered fall of snow. I think it could do with some more historically focussed descriptions of the setting and ship to develop the scene further, however it does a good job describing all the different types of personnel onboard the ship.
The_Bourne_Pilgrimage
Based on the movie series The Bourne Identity. Bourne's enemy has rejected his offer to walk away. So he and Nicky go after the enemy's source to stop him. Bourne gets badly injured and it becomes up to Nicky to be the tough one. What stands out is how well the action scenes are written- very clear and can be imagined with a sense of struggle and ferocity just like the films.
Frequent_Flyer
Based upon the cartoon series Ninja Turtles. This fan-fiction centres on the Donatello character but also involves the other 3 turtles. Donatello has a hard time in the sparring session and master Splinter gives his attention to help comfort the young student. It is very true to the series with Splinter talking in his renowned wise lecturing style.
Sleepyhead
Based on the movie Avatar. This short fan-fiction takes place the morning Jake is permanently transformed into his avatar body. It is a fun account of Neytiri as she watches Jake sleep. It develops on some ideas in the movie like Neytiri’s fear of Jack not waking up like he did in the movie. Well written with good grammar and clearly seperated paragraphs.
The_Pridelanders_Part_1
Based on the Lion King movie. This fan-fiction works on an alternate twist in plot of the movie where Simba never ran away after Mufasa died. Almost the entire story is written from a first person point of view that switches around through different characters. It is very imaginative and a very plausible alternate plot for the movie even though it does included a few newly created characters.
The_Player
Based on the Microsoft Windows game minesweeper. The story writes about the thoughts and views of a player in playing the game. It is short but amazing that such an entertaining piece of writing could have the basis of such a monotonous and simple game. The sentence structure becomes a little repetitive but I was very impressed with this piece.
The_Ken_Masters_Interview
A very interesting fan-fiction based on the game Street Fighter. The author writes an interview with Ken Masters, one of the main characters in the game to find out his point of view on other characters in the game. It mixes but successfully manages to capture all humour, tragedy and sadness. It pokes fun at the games but also tells the story and builds a conclusion for a solid ending.
Full_of_Bull
Based on the film Rush Hour. This is an account of Lee’s thoughts of Carter when they first meet. It is very accurate with the movie and uses the lines almost word for word but building on top as Lee analyses Carters’ persona. It is very humorous and is easy to imagine Lee thinking in the manner the author portrays.
Daniel's Fanfic
Introduction:Based on the book series “The Codex Saga” by Jim Butcher.
The books are set in a world where spirits of the earth and its elements, called furies, can be used by man in a society based on the Ancient Roman Empire.
In most adventure stories there is a lot of damage to the surrounding area and chaos in general. A thought occurred to me "What is it like for those bystanders in these situations?"
In the fourth book in the series the main character breaks someone out of prison and escapes to the docks causing havoc in the processes.
Paperwork by fury light is always a pleasant task in the wee hours of the morning. Papers were stacked high on the desk in the upstairs room of a book shop. Most of the papers showed numbers with words above and below to the affects of "Interest accured” and “kindly pay". The owner let out a sigh and sat back on his chair
"Opening a book store in Alera-Imperia was a great idea. Demand for the written word among the educated and noble classes will be high."
One year, and a couple of overdue loans from ruthless patrons had taught him otherwise.
Still better than staying in the country and using his fury craft to work the land. He glanced up at his fire fury resting inside a glass jar on the desk. Shaped as an animal, as most country furies were. He wondered why his, rooted deeply in fire and fear, was shaped as a small frog.
"Any ideas?" he asked the fury. In reply the frog looked back with impassive eyes and expanded its chest in the gesture mimicking the habits of the shape it possessed.
A blue flash from the nearby window was followed by a suddenly darkening of the night. The screech from metal wheels on stone roads was accompanied by the shrill neigh of overworked horses and the cries of men. A sudden crash from the front of his shop was soon to follow. The owner shot up knocking over his chair and scattering paper across the already messy room.
“Cursed sailors!! If one of those drunken slives has broken my door again, I will burn him and his boat to the bottom of the ocean!!”
Holding his hands out for his fury to follow, the proprietor headed for the stairs and down to the empty shop below. The lights from the streetlamps were out, and the broken heap of rubble from a wall lined with poor quality literature was spread over half the shop. A groan and an odd metallic creak came from the prone form lying in the center of the mess. Yelling voices and the heavy sounds of hurried footsteps echoed up and down the street.
Rage filled the owner at the newest injustice dealt to him, combined with his soon to be destitute status an outlet was sought and found in the semi-conscious man in front of him.
Gritting his teeth and sucking in a deep breath the owner stepped up to grab the cause of his most recent problem. Summoning his fury from the stone floors beneath him he threw the man out on to the street. Following the man out of his newly enlarged door he stood in the frame. Raising his hand and the fiery spirit in it above his head he bid the fury to flare into a golden white brilliance and grow in size. He set the fury upon the closest figure in front of him.
As his fury crafting tutor had told him time and again, the ability of a fire fury to bring fear and panic into the hearts and minds of weaker men was paramount in fully mastering his talents. And as he had told his master in his youth time and again, a flaming frog six feet tall and leaping towards someone will also cause the desired effect. In his youth he had no talent for the finer arts of crafting for either his earth or fire furie, something he never regretted that until now.
As his fury came down on the closet man it was suddenly blown apart by a gust of wind strong enough to suck the air from the owner’s lungs at several paces away. A slow dread inducing realization sunk into the owner as he watched the last sparks of his fury dissipate into the darkness. Such crafting could only be done by the higher castes of society or military.
Lights had blossomed in the hands of some of the armored men on the street. Clearly lit the owner could see these men were not drunken sailors.
The men wore the distinctive uniform of the Grey Guard from the grey tower, the only prison in the realm, that could keep even the strongest citizens captive. These men were slowly getting back into file, hurried by centurions with the batons of their station being put to use on any person seen lagging. One of these officers walked up to the owner and addressed him in a voice clearly used in drills or pointing out any flaws in parentage in a new recruit.
“Who are you to interrupt the actions of officers on duty?!”
With a deep breath and as much false bravado as he could muster in his half suffocated state he replied,“Who are you to destroy the property and work place of a citizen of this realm?! I and every other person on this street would like to know what gives the crown and senate reason to disregard rights of the people!!”
"The same rights that allow me to arrest and put to trial any persons seen to be interrupting the protectors of this realm in their duty to this land and its people." The centurion turned his head to the least dazed of his two troops. "Get this man in chains and back to the tower! The rest of you get down to the docks and search any boat in port. If that prisoner escaped we will all be dragged before the senate for trial. Now go!"
As the owner was manhandled back to the tower where he would no doubt be spending a large portion of the immediate future, he couldn't help but wonder what events and persons had caused this current misfortune in his life.

A justice for Milou.
Tintin is a young reporter who travels the world to solve cases. His best friend is Snowy, a white Fox Terrier.

Tintin is being arrested by Miami Police, he remains silent, he knows that his plans are finally going to happen...
- "What went through your mind?!" yells detective Harry Smart, "killing him?! With a hammer?!" he sighs.
- "He deserved it, I could imagine him dieing, it felt good." Tintin whispers.
- "Well we're done."
- "No we're not, why don't you sit down, we have to talk."
- "Talk about what? How you butchered him??? We're done here Tintin."
- "Did I say I killed him? I just said that he deserved it, that I could imagine him dieing and that it felt good."
- "But everyone knows what happened, you murdered Paul Frank!"
- "It's not about what we know but about proof you can give to the court! Don't you remember? Here's the deal, I want a double bed with four pillows and a soft blanket, then you'll have my confessions."
Today Tintin's new double bed, plus four pillows, plus blanket are being delivered. We can hear all the prisoners yelling and messing around.
- "Thank you for that! I appreciate!" throws Tintin.
Detective Harry Smart is really annoyed having to deal with Tintin. But he finally gets his confessions.
A week later Tintin is in the court, he confesses everything. But when the judge asks him if he has anything to say, he stands up and starts his speech.
- "Your Honour, this is the very first time I've ever been involved with the justice, and I don't find jail very pleasant, therefore I ask you if I can go home while the verdict's being deliberate." he is so persuasive that the judge starts considering his request.
- "Knowing that you behaved quite well during the past week in jail, and that it's indeed your first time with the justice.."
- "Stop stop please! Are you kidding me? Are you really considering letting me go? After what I've done! Do you have a clue of what JUSTICE means???" he interrupts the judge, angry.
- "Mr Tintin please tone down!"
- "No I'm not finished! People out there can be in danger if you let me free, do you know that? Does it happen with all the defendants? What are you doing here? You would be better in a playground than here your Honour!"
- "Enough!" says the judge with a very embarrassed tone.
Tintin is taken back to jail. He knows everybody in court is now disturbed and doesn't know whether to like what Tintin says or not. Because after all, maybe he's right.
Four days later detective Smart gets a phone call from the judge saying that Sally Deer has reported her husband has been missing for two days now. Sally Deer is the wife of John Deer, of one the jury for Tintin's trial. Smart decides to go to jail to visit Tintin.
- "What happened to him Tintin? Where is he?!"
- "Don't worry he's safe but not for long, listen it's simple, I'll tell you if we make another deal."
- "What again?" asks Smart with an irritated tone.
- "I hate food here in jail, lets be honest it's quite disgusting isn't it? I'd like a nice meal from that restaurant in Grand Avenue, "Spragio" you know? A T-bone steak with steamed asparagus and macaroni. Before 12.30pm. Don't be late detective!"
Harry Smart does everything he can to be in time, he wants to save that poor John Deer so much! But unfortunately with all safety measures the director of the jail demands, the dish arrives 8 minutes late. So they got there 8 minutes late. He could have been alive, but Tintin's plan was just too good.
Five years ago something terrible happened to Tintin, and he wants now everybody to pay for it.
Detective Smart goes to see Tintin in jail and try to figure out what's really going on.
- "I told you not to be late Harry, didn't you hear me?" says Tintin as Harry Smart enters the cell.
- "Enough now, you think you can be smarter than me? Many other mad and bad people like you tried in the past. But you forgot something, this is my job and I'm the best at it!"
- "That's what you think! Let me ask you something, why do you think I'm playing this game with you, why?" yells Tintin at the detective's face.
The detective Smart is clueless he has no idea what to say or even what to do.
Tintin keeps talking "here's my deal, you drop every legal action against me and no one will be killed anymore. I always keep my word detective."
Smart chuckles "no more deal Tintin. I got it. It's over."
- "Finally!" sighs Tintin with a big smile on his face.
Five years ago, Tintin's dog and best friend Milou, got decapitated by a drunk man named Paul Frank, justice condemned him for only $1500 of damages. Milou was everything to Tintin, he was following him everywhere, helping him, simply sharing his life.

Daniel and his 10 Fanfic
Crossover between "Doctor Who" from the BBC and the "Sandman" from DC comics
Doctor Who Finally settles down to a good nights sleep and meets the sandman in front of his gate
The writing is very true to the source lots and quips and jokes that wouldn't be out of place in the show, getting Donna out a bodice with the sonic screwdriver after she gets stuck in it being quite good.
Me not being familiar with the character of the sand man didn't know how well we was portrayed. The length was a bit short but in told the story well in the space it was given.
Bounty Hunter to Petty Theif Written
Alternative reality based on "Firefly" the TV show
Introduces a new character and resulting romance into the middle of the firefly series. Mal's little sister joins the crew to flee from a criminal Hit that's placed been placed on her head. Quite a good read if a little long. Seemed to be biased towards a few of the characters especially to Jayne, giving a little to much "soul" to what was a rather simple character in the show.
Mothers and Sisters Written
Based on the anime "R.O.D"
Gives voice to a very silent character in the show Junior. Set in after the show Junior reflects on his unusual past and how he views the world from his sheltered existence. Pretty hard to understand if you haven’t watched the show and is very fresh in your mind a lot in “in house” references are made. Still very readable and quite philosophical.
Goblins Comic
Based on the Board game "Dungeon and Dragons"
Focuses on a group of goblins try change their place in the world by becoming Player Characters instead of low level monsters. Large amount of humor, but a really interesting plot. Characters in the story will freely talk about "hit points" and "stats" this combined with the story puts a little reality into the fantasy which is quite refreshing.
The Dark Half Written
Based on the movie "Mirror Mask"
Essentially happens after the end of the movie acts as what would be the final scene in the movie and gives a "bad ending". Depressing and rather short. The Movie was about getting over ones inner demons and this story gives a rather sad twist to the "overcoming adversity" feel of the movie. Well written though.
Freefall Written
Based on the computer game “Bioshock”.
A prequel to the game its set at the start of Atlas's rebellion against Andrew Rayne shows the faults in Raptures society and the classicism that is prevalent in the Undersea Utopia. Centered on a background character from the game, gives a very interesting view on the events that take place later in the game. Although the story is yet to be finished still very interesting.
Legend Of Neil Video
Based on the game "The Legend of Zelda".
Neil a nobody gas attendant from New Jersey gets sucked into the video game legend of Zelda and is given the chance to be a Hero. Lots of humour though some is a little crass. The story points out alot of holes in video game logic to a comical end, such as why is there money hidden in long grass and pots??. Story is still being made but and interesting watch.
Agatha Heterodyne and the Excessively Hirsute Canine Written
Based on the online Comic "Girl Genius"
Very good story of a good size that is remarkably true and in style of the canon. Though it is written and therefore lacks the visual appeal of the steam punk setting The story is not hampered by it.The story introduces a person impersonating the Heterodyne heir. Much to Agatha's distaste as she is swiftly jailed as a fake.
Grim Tales Comic
Based on ALOT
Mainly centered on the fictional children of the grim reaper, from the TV show "The grim adventures of Billy and Mandy". These Two characters encounter a lot of will known figures from other TV shows and comics. It is a rather adult use of characters that a primarily meant for children, the theme and content are all rather grim but enjoyable.
Two Years in the making Written
Based on the anime "Samurai Champloo".
Set two years after the end of the series, Fuu, Mugen and Jin reunite for the first time after they separated. None of the characters have changed at all. The story switches from each one of the three’s point of view as they meet. It is rather disjointed and not very true to the source. Most of the over 5000 words are just observation from each of the three.
